2/11 …. What I did accomplish….. very little
February was NOT a great stitching month as I had hope for as many of us in my family where sick with the flu for the first part of the month. The second part I concentrated on my goals for a WIP which I had chose Margaret Harris by Blackbird Designs …. which I completed!
I decide to decatied this one to my Mother In Law Maria Del Carmen she is a wonderful woman with a colorful past. She was born in the States from when her parnets came from Mexico to work on the railroad in Kansas in the 1920's. Her family moved back to Mexico and then in the 70's she return to the States and settle in San Antonio, Texas. To this day she speaks no English and has never drove a car:) She walks everywhere or takes the city bus she is now 86 years old and still very healthy (and still walking:)). The colors to me represent the colors of San Antonio which is a beautiful city to live & the house in this piece reminds my husband of the 1st house he live in when he came to the States to live all those years ago.
The other goal I work on was my ornament challenge for myself which I did 3 instead of 4 but I slip in a stitch piece before the holidays I never finish so I’m keeping that tidbit for myself and know one will ever know:) lol ...
They are....
Merry Bright ~ CHN
December 25 ~ L*K
Feliz Navidad ~ L*K (the one I slipped in)
Merry ~ S Crescent
Also wanted to include my first Shepherd's Bush piece from the monthly musings & my second from The Stitcherhood.
All is good again in the Cerda Family back to stitching. I’m working on one from the 15 Challenge which is LHN Battle Hymn of the Republic.
